And just as importantly, we are challenging all of our business practices to reduce our carbon footprint and play our part in the fight against climate change. We have thus added a new dimension to our climate strategy with the “A Planet of Exception” project, which combines our emission reduction objectives (validated by the SBTi) with contributing to Carbon Neutrality through collaborative climate projects.

In the spotlight

Making glass last forever #OneBottleForEternity

Rémy Cointreau’s flagship programme since 2022, #OneBottleForEternity is based on the principle that glass and bottles can be recycled ad infinitum. It focuses on their circularity, with the aim of reducing the emissions associated with their production, transport and distribution. The potential is undeniable: glass is 100% recyclable, but it can also be reused.

Three of our Houses have launched a pilot project to circularise their bottles. Mount Gay is testing the deposit system: empty bottles are collected, cleaned and refilled. Objective: 30 to 40% reuse of bottles by 2025.

In the UK, our partner ECOSPIRITS is replacing single-use Cointreau and Mount Gay bottles with refillable 4.5-litre containers installed in our bars, restaurants and hotels. The result is the virtual disappearance of bottles and over-packaging, and greater storage capacity.

Finally, in 2022, our House LOUIS XIII launched “The infinity wheel”, a service which offers its customers the possibility of refilling the emblematic crystal decanter an unlimited number of times in its LOUIS XIII boutiques, during a personalised ceremony.
